Adolfo Morais

IMG_7413Adolfo holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and is currently a Lawyer here at the firm.  He has obtained a Bachelor in Civil Law from Universite Laval, and a Bachelor of Law from the Federal University of Goias in Brazil.  He also hods a Security Screening Certificate by the Government of Canada and is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada.

At Universite Laval, Adolfo received a scholarship and an award for the best student enrolled in the Bachelor of Law’s program whose first language is not French.  At the University of Ottawa, he obtained the Editions Yvon Blais Prize for the highest standing in one of the mandatory courses in the National Program in the Common Law Section.

In Brazil. Adolfo started his legal career as an intern primarily working with real estate transactions, mortgages and property law businesses.  As a lawyer, he started his own practice in civil litigation and acted as a legal counsellor and solicitor for one of the biggest Brazilian insurance companies.  Adolfo was also a member of the International Association of Insurance Law and a legal advisor for the Brazilian National Federation of Registered Retirement Savings Plan and Life Insurance.  He was called the the Brazilian Bar in 2002.

In Canada, Adolfo developed an interest in common law principles and fundamental justice.  In particular his interests are in criminal, immigration and human rights laws.  Besides litigation and alternative dispute resolution, he is also interested in constitutional, administrative and international laws.  He did his articles with a downtown Ottawa law firm and then was called to the Bar in 2013.

Apart from his keen interest for law, Adolfo loves to spend time with family and friends, read, watch movies and he takes pleasure in cooking.

Adolfo is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, French and English and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
